Frequently wash or clean marble surfaces with lukewarm water and wipe dry with a clean cloth. You can also use a mild detergent solution and water to clean marble surfaces.
A thin coat of wax or marble sealer can help protect the surface of marble. Be sure to use a colorless wax.
Commercial marble cleaner and polish can be used to refresh a dull marble surface. Putty powder (tin oxide) can also treat dull or etched surfaces.
Items such as lamps and metal containers often leave rust stains on marble. When this occurs, use a commercial rust stain remover. Follow directions exactly and do not leave on surface longer than recommended.
